PRK

PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) is a laser eye surgery that corrects refractive errors like nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Instead of creating a corneal flap like in LASIK, PRK gently removes the thin outer layer of the cornea (epithelium) before reshaping the underlying tissue with an excimer laser. This makes PRK ideal for patients with thin corneas or other conditions unsuitable for LASIK. The epithelium naturally regenerates during recovery, and most patients experience significant vision improvement within a few days. PRK offers long-term, effective vision correction and is a safe alternative to glasses or contact lenses for eligible candidates.
