Dr. Tyson, the board-certified surgeon at Tyson Eye, is among the most experienced and well trained in the country. He has performed thousands of surgical and laser procedures. Dr. Tyson has been invited to teach courses at major national and international meetings of ophthalmologists in such prestigious places asÂ theÂ American Academy of Ophthalmology, theÂ Turkish Glaucoma CongressÂ in Izmir, the Russian National Ophthalmology Congress in Moscow, the Pan African American Congress of Ophthalmology in Dubai, theÂ European Societies of Cataract and Refractive SurgeryÂ in London and Lisbon, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons in Barcelona, Spain, and at the International Ophthalmic Symposium of Dhahran Eye Specialist Hospital (DESH) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In addition to cataract and glaucoma surgery, Dr. Tyson is fellowship trained and has completed extensive training in laser vision correction.Â His expertise and experience with laser vision correction dates back to his involvement in the research of the Excimer laser prior to its approval by the FDA.
Tyson Eye is recognized as a center of excellence by major pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. Our surgeons are continuously sought out by manufacturers to conduct clinical trials on new medications and technologies.
Our Dedicated Eye Surgery and Laser Center
The Eye Surgery and Laser Center at Tyson Eye is the only ambulatory surgery center in Cape Coral.Â This means you wonâ€™t have to go to the hospital to have surgery!Â The Eye Surgery and Laser Center has been awarded the certificate of accreditation by theÂ Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc.Â (AAAHC).Â This award means that the Eye Surgery and Laser Center has met nationally recognized standards for quality care.Â In order to achieve this accreditation, the Eye Surgery and Laser Center underwent an extensive on-site survey of its facilities and services.Â The survey team, composed of physicians, nurses and administrators evaluated all aspects of patient care.
