Advanced Technology

Tyson Eye offers the very latest lasers, surgical, and diagnostic equipment available on the market. From LASIK to cataract surgery to glaucoma management, Tyson Eye uses the most advanced equipment available. Through our research department, our doctors have early access to many of the latest technologies before those technologies are available to others. One example of this is the involvement of Dr. Tyson and Dr. Stephens in the development of minimally invasive glaucoma surgery devices and procedures to better manage the effects of glaucoma. Tyson Eye is always up-to-date on the latest and most effective treatments and technologies to ensure maximum preservation of vision.

Experienced Surgeons

Our surgeons are among the most experienced and well-trained in the country. They have performed thousands of surgical and laser procedures. Dr. Tyson and Dr. Stephens are driven to better educate eye care leaders abroad by teaching new surgical techniques. They have lectured and performed various ophthalmic procedures in many countries including Mexico, Honduras, Panama, China, Kenya, Ukraine, Peru, and Turks and Caicos. Their reputations as experts in the field of ophthalmology have allowed them many opportunities to share their knowledge with eye care professionals in the United States and abroad.

In addition to cataract and glaucoma surgery, Dr. Tyson is fellowship trained and has completed extensive training in laser vision correction. His expertise and experience with laser vision correction dates back to his involvement in the research of the Excimer laser before its approval by the FDA.

Dr. Stephens utilizes his extensive training and education to provide his patients with the best possible clinical and surgical care. His specialized training in cornea, glaucoma and cataract surgeries has made him an expert in dealing with multiple aspects of the eye. A comprehensive understanding of the cornea also makes him an ideal surgeon for cornea transplants, LASIK, PRK and other refractive procedures.

Tyson Eye is recognized as a center of excellence by major pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. Our surgeons are continuously sought out by manufacturers to conduct clinical trials on new medications and technologies.
