Durysta
Durysta is a biodegradable, intracameral implant used to treat open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension (high eye pressure). It is a prostaglandin analog that works by increasing the flow of fluid out of the eye, lowering intraocular pressure (IOP).
How it works:
Durysta is implanted in the anterior chamber of the eye during a short, outpatient procedure.
The implant slowly releases bimatoprost over a period of several months.
This sustained release of medication helps to keep IOP low and prevent further damage to the optic nerve.
Benefits
Convenient, once every 6 months up to a year treatment.
Designed to lower IOP
May be an alternative for patients who cannot tolerate eye drops or have difficulty adhering to their treatment regimen
