STUART I. KAPLAN, OD

Dr. Kaplan joined Tyson Eye in 2002 as a Florida board-certified optometrist. He practices comprehensive vision science and is well-versed in all optical disorders, devoting his skills and training to healthy eyesight for his patients. He is the Program Director for the Dry Eye Treatment Program at Tyson Eye as well as being involved in multiple clinical trials relating to glaucoma management, intraocular lenses and dry eye therapy. In 2019, Dr. Kaplan was awarded the Optometrist of the Decade by the Florida Optometric Association.

DR. STUART I. KAPLAN, OD

Dr. Kaplan began his undergraduate studies at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Vision Science from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He completed his doctorate studies at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Optometry in 2001.

Dr. Kaplan’s community involvement includes: Past Governor-Appointed Chairman of the Florida Board of Optometry, Past President of Southwest Florida Optometric Association (swfoa.com), Past Commander of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 9-1, FMB, Past Commander of the Southwest Florida Jewish War Veterans Post 400. Dr. Kaplan is a decorated Gulf War veteran who served for four years in the United States Army. He continued his service for four additional years in the Florida Army National Guard prior to starting his collegiate studies.

Dr. Kaplan is happy to call Southwest Florida home with his wife, Dr. Angela Kaplan, and his four children. He enjoys spending time with his family, boating, visiting amusement parks and other family-oriented events. In addition to boating, his hobbies include scuba diving and biking.
